A morning that starts with coffee is always a good morning.
The foamier the better.

leftovers of my healthier version of old fashioned chocolate chip cookies make for a nicely balanced breakfast -.-

soon after I got up, it was time for lunch!!
chicken breaded in cheesy Emmenthal crust and herbs
(cranberry sauce not pictured)
my salad on the side with feta and poppy seed dressing (this was my extra portion of veggies for this WIAW haha)
some chocolate-almond Easter eggs for an afternoon pick-me up
clearly wasn't the only handful

with another coffee (unpictured)
as an evening meal there was a shared platter of leftover "sacred meat" and hard boiled colorful Easter eggs. I almost forgot to snap a picture, therefore the slightly meagerly looking plate. In Styria (and in some other parts of Austria as well) there is the tradition of taking meat in a neatly packed basket to the chapel on Holy Saturday so that the priest can give his blessing to it. And after that you head home and have a family meal with all the meat, white bread, eggs and of course horseradish (and at the very same time you cross your fingers that you won't get an acute attack of gout^^). This year I insisted we'd buy lox as well, which unfortunately went unpictured.

See you guys next Wednesday.
Until then I'll hopefully have more veggies to present!
What made it on your plate this Wednesday?? Feel free to share!

OMG...how do you make such a great foam? I am struggeling every morning with my coffee mashine, but my foam looks like crap.
AntwortenLöschenYour meals look yummy, especially the cheese cake.
You remind me that I will also join the WIAW girls, but every tuesday I forget to take pictures. I will make myself a note for next week. Promise;-)
Have a great day!
that is the foamiest coffee i have ever seen! you need to post on how to do this!!! and i love love love that you had cookies for breakfast! :) happy wiaw, doll.
AntwortenLöschenhey! this is in response to your question on my blog. but wanted to make sure you saw it. this is what i said regarding your serving size nut question.
AntwortenLöscheni try and keep my snacks ~200 calories or so. so i usually pair nuts with fruit so this is acutually 1/8 cup (2 Tablespoons) of almonds. this is about 60-80 calories of nuts depending on the type of nut. so 1/8 cup of nuts plus 1 apple (or sometimes i'll do dried fruit like raisins) puts me a little less than 200 calories. if i am just eating nuts i'll eat 1/4 cup (~180 calories), but i find my tummy does better when i pair nuts with fruit like this. (i'll also post this on your blog to be sure you see it, but thought others might be interested).
hey lady! just letting you know i nominated you for the liebster blog award. check out my recent post! http://mylessseriouslife.blogspot.com/2012/04/liebstar-blog-award.html
