Alright, here's a confession: We love double dates. Especially on Friday nights. And the only thing we love even more than double dates after a long exhausting work week are double dates with our dear friends. And when there is Mexican food involved it equals perfection. Mexican food and multiple cocktails (preferably margaritas) = perfect ending to the week and at the same time best start into the week-end.
At least that's what I thought. But the more you plan, the more reality surprises you in the end. And boy, did reality ever screw me over this past Friday.
We've actually known and remembered SALUD as an amazing restaurant from our last vacation/clerkship in Klagenfurt, Carinthia two summers ago, so we were absolutely sure it would be a safe bet to drag our friends there for a couples' night out.
While our company was great (hello S + D ♥ ), unfortunately the food was not. I was greatly disappointed to say the least. Or maybe it was solely a crucial mistake to go with the prawn and chicken caesar salad. Because in the end it turned out that our men loved their food and thought it was way better than last time we went out together, while us poor girls hated ours. Maybe hate is too strong of a word but it really didn't blow me away. And when it comes to food, you'd better not mess with me! Good thing I wasn't even that hungry to begin with, but still that salad with those 3 pieces of lettuce and 1 sliced tomato left me hungry. Saddest part was that I ordered even additional veggies on top to begin with plus an extra guacamole on the side. So so sad :( Needless to say that once I got home I had to raid the fridge to still my remaining hunger.
After a quick location switch to TGIF's and more supersized cocktails (and some envious glances at the tables next to ours) I swore to myself that next time we'll make a reservation there.
And luckily everyone agreed.
