deli Naschmarkt

Recently in Vienna...
(sidenote: by "recently" I actually mean today, but I thought this was just a great phrase to start a post^^)

I had a lunch date with a good friend, this time we decided to go to deli at Naschmarkt, because -believe it or not- I am really trying my best to constantly deliver new restaurant reviews to you guys, so that's why I always have to make sure I am trying new things that I haven't done a review on before. Which is good I guess! A great way to get to know different places all around the city and basically see the world.
So of course by "we decided on" what I really mean is "I decided" =)

So deli it was this time!
As usual at the Naschmarkt, it was really crowded inside, very multi-cultural, people from all over the world enjoying their yummy treats!
We both decided to order soup as an appetizer so we could fill our tummies with comforting warmth first. The soup was really good, mine was really hot and spicy with potato chunks in it but considering the temperatures outside, it was exactly what I needed.

Red Lentil Soup with Mint
(mine)
&
Pumpkin Soup with Pepita Seeds
(might have forced this one on my friend...ooopsies)

After the soup, we proceeded with our main course which was equally D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!! I ordered a field salad ("Vogerlsalat") with avocado, feta cheese, tomatoes and green & black olives because I really felt like I needed to fuel up on those healthy fats. My friend decided to go for the rolled pita bread with lamb, hummus and salad. Can you spy my yummy sliced avocado in the picture??
Service was really quick, we almost didn't have to wait at all for our food (always a plus!). The time between our appetizer and entrée was just about perfect.
I would describe DELI's food as pure bliss, multicultural and ethnical, which matches perfectly the customers it attracts. I would go there again in an instant and if that doesn't mean anything, then I really don't know what does!!
